This course is for a learner looking to work within the bricklaying industry. It aims to develop your skills and craft to work at recognized industry levels.
Mandatory Units include (not all listed)
Core 01Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries
Core04 Understanding information, quantities and communication with others
Core05 Understanding construction technology
CoreOcc 69 Set out masonry structures
Construct solid walling incorporating isolated and attached piers
Optional units – to be arranged
12 - 24 months depending on course and individual circumstances
Oral and written unit assessments through student portfolio with practical vocational observation by a qualified Assessor; Witness Testimonies and Professional Discussion.
Aged 16 – 17 years old Or Young person with a disability and be under 22 years old, Or Young person who qualifies under the Children (Leaving Care) Act (NI) (2002) and who is under 24 years old.
18 – 24 years old working 21 hrs or above in a relevant job role
All aged groups, must be employed or working voluntary in a relevant job role
Students can progress to higher education or level 3 Diploma in Bricklaying.
