Course Description – safeguarding children is a mandatory training requirement for anyone who has direct contact with children as part of the work or voluntary role. This course is for those who previously undertaken Safeguarding Children Training within the last 3 years.
The course covers; a recap of basic Safeguarding training including categories of child abuse, definitions and indicators, signs and symptoms and associated risk factors. The training also includes legislation and key guidance, barriers to disclosures with a focus on supporting staff teams, how to support staff to respond to disclosures, recognising and reporting abuse, the referral process and information regarding other involved professionals and services and what happens after a referral.
Duration – 5 hours
Assessment – summative assessment contained within course content. Completion of Case Studies
