Course Description
This course is designed to offer learners a flexible, relevant course to improve their understanding and application of work-based skills. We ensure that the knowledge, skills and understanding the course provides are relevant, current and useful for learners and potential employers. The qualification has been designed to support employability in conjunction with our Personal Development course and hands-on practical experience gained through work placements in learners’ preferred vocational areas. Learners have the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised Level 1 or Level 2 vocationally-related qualification.
The following topics are covered;
The programme of learning will be facilitated via a range of teaching methods, which will ensure that the learning needs of each individual are met. This will involve discussion, written activities, group work, tutor led, research tasks and individual tasks. Candidates will also have the opportunity to engage in ICT tasks. Visual aids and other teaching resources are used throughout the programme, including the use of interactive whiteboards. Understanding and retention will be assessed through class quiz activities to be completed at the end of each module.
Duration
We aim to complete this course over a 12 month period. However, extra time can be arranged according to individual circumstance and need.
Assessment
Candidates will complete workbooks which are assessed by tutor and moderated for standardisation by internal moderator.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements but learners must be aged between 16 and 18 years old or up to 24 years for individuals requiring additional support.
Progression Routes
Learners have the opportunity to progress to related general and/or vocational qualifications or employment in a particular vocational sector.
