This course is designed to help you build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is suitable for those who wish to work, or are working, in a supervised role in children’s care, learning and development in Northern Ireland.
To give you an understanding of this course, topics include:
If you are a school-leaver* and not working full time, you could access this course for free through the Skills for Life and Work programme.
If you are aged 16 to 25 (and over 25 for some qualifications)* and working a minimum of 21 hours per week, you could access this course for free through the ApprenticeshipsNI programme.
If you wish to self-fund, the cost is £950 + VAT + a registration fee of £103.
A good standard of written English is required.

You could complete further study such as the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care Learning & Development Northern Ireland, or progress in roles such as childcare/nursery assistant, teaching assistant, childminder, health play specialist, family support worker, early years teacher.
