This course is ideal if you are already working in the retail sector and want to progress, or for those looking to work in the sector who’d like to increase their knowledge. You will study the retail sector, incorporating a key core of knowledge , and provide opportunities for you to acquire a number of practical and technical skills.
To give you an understanding of this course, topics include:
- Understanding the development of personal and team effectiveness in a retail business
- Understanding the retail selling process
- Understanding the management of risks to health and safety on the premises of a retail business
- Understanding customer service in the retail sector
- Understanding how the effectiveness of store operations can be improved
- Understanding the management of stock in a retail business
Delivery & Funding
If you are working a minimum of 21 hours per week in the Retail sector, you may be eligible to access this course for free at any age through the All-Age Apprenticeships programme. Conditions apply.

You could continue learning by completing a Level 3 Diploma in Retail Skills (Management or Sales Professional).
