This course will allow you to recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Site Carpenter within the construction industry.

If you are a school-leaver and not working full time, you could access this course for free through the Skills for Life and Work programme.
If you are aged 16 to 25 (and over 25 for some qualifications)* and working a minimum of 21 hours per week, you could access this course for free through the ApprenticeshipsNI programme.

You might go on to complete further study such as the level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction). You could also progress in work as a site carpenter in the construction industry where you will carry out first and second fixes (door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames and floor joists).
