People 1st Associate Tutors

A large majority of our tutors are associates which means they can work flexible hours to suit their professional and personal circumstances. At People 1st, we want to give you the tools to progress and engage in CPD.

The delivery of vocational qualifications or essential skills to learners on the Skills for Life and Work and ApprenticeshipsNI programmes, effectively carrying out initial and diagnostic assessments and informing group learning plans which accurately track progression towards the target level.

Active participation in the company’s self-evaluation and quality improvement processes, including the administration of all Department for Economy forms and appropriate documentation, familiarity with and compliance to department guidelines.


Various other duties at the discretion of management that may arise.





  • A minimum of one year’s experience delivery of accredited programmes
  • Hold, be working towards or happy to work towards a recognised teaching qualification, i.e., PGCE, B Ed, Certificate in Teaching (UUJ), or Diploma in Teaching and Management of Essential Skills.
  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in subject area. 
  • A current driving licence and access to a car. 
  • An effective communicator, sympathetic and understanding to the needs of young people. 
  • A high degree of commitment, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and promote ideas effectively. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including evening work).


Hours currently available (this is likely to increase).

Business Administration x 2 full days p/w




Hourly Rate:                          £20-£25

WORKING HOURS:              Full day = 6 hours
