Full funding* available for Belfast City Council residents!
Level 3 & 5 Health & Social Care Courses
Commencing May 2020
People 1st have appointed by Belfast City Council to facilitate a Social Care Upskilling Academy.
The aim of the academy is to support Belfast residents* working in the Social Care industry, to develop skills and achieve a qualification that will enable them to access better employment opportunities.
Participants will work towards the Level 3 or Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care, which will enable them to access an identified supervisory, team leader or management role within the sector. This will then create an escalator with back-fill Social Care job opportunities for those wishing to enter the labour market. It is intended that this skills escalator will enable employers to have access to the higher-level skills and succession planning to sustain and grow their business.
Participants are required to attend master classes which will focus on best practice in the sector, these will be facilitated via a blended approach of distance and group sessions learning held fortnightly for level 3 and monthly for level 5. Participants must have basic IT skills and appropriate resources to access on-line learning.
You will be assigned an Assessor who will assist you in choosing the right units for the role you undertake. You will be required to complete some written work in relation to the units you choose and in addition, workplace assessment is undertaken to provide evidence of your application of skills and knowledge.
Why People 1st?
People 1st hold Direct Claims Status (DCS) for all qualifications and do not need to wait for an external verifier visit to claim certificates. This means that as soon as you complete your programme, you should have your certificate within two weeks!
