Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in Barbering

The qualification is designed for learners who work, or wish to pursue a career, in barbering. The Level 3 provides the necessary skills and knowledge that prove occupational competence as a senior barber.
To give you an understanding of this course, topics include:
- Provide client consultation services
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques
- Design and create a range of facial hair shapes
- Provide shaving services
- Fulfil salon reception duties
- Provide a variety of relaxing services
If you are working a minimum of 21 hours per week in the Hairdressing sector, you may be eligible to access this course for free at any age through the All-Age Apprenticeships programme. Conditions apply.

If you wish to self-fund, the cost is £950 + VAT + a registration fee of £98.
A good standard of written English is required.
You could complete further specialist training and learn advanced techniques or take up opportunities such as a managerial role or choose to become self-employed. You could learn wig making, trichology, or theatrical, media or special effect hair. You could also work on a cruise ship, or in hospitals or care homes.
