The aim of this course is to help you understand the key principles of retail business including customer service, selling, product knowledge, merchandising and consumer legislation.

If you are a school-leaver* and not working full time, you could access this course for free through the Skills for Life and Work programme.
If you are aged 16 to 25 (and over 25 for some qualifications)* and working a minimum of 21 hours per week, you could access this course for free through the ApprenticeshipsNI programme.

You could continue learning by completing a Level 3 Certificate in Retail Knowledge or a Level 3 Diploma in Retail Skills (Management or Sales Professional). You could also progress in work in roles such as retail assistant, manager, buyer, merchandiser, personal shopper.
