This course is for those who take responsibility for a retail environment such as department, section and team leaders, specialist sales advisors and owner/managers. You will develop your management skills as well as be able to reflect your specific retail job role.
To give you an understanding of this course, topics include:
- Work effectively and support others in a retail organisation
- Manage staff to receive goods in a retail environment
- Maintain the availability of goods on display in a retail environment to promote sales
- Organise and monitor the storage of stock in a retail environment
- Set objectives and provide support for team members
- Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team
Delivery & Funding
If you are working a minimum of 21 hours per week in the Retail sector, you may be eligible to access this course for free at any age through the All-Age Apprenticeships programme. Conditions apply.

You could continue learning by completing a Level 3 Diploma in Retail Skills – Sales Professional. You could also progress in work in roles such as customer relationship manager, team leader, key account manager, buyer, or merchandiser.
